Skiers in town for the annual Yellowstone Ski Festival and local families stopped by the Rendezvous Ski Trails trailhead last Friday evening for the first S’mores event of the season.
November’s S’mores & Skiers event invited people of all ages to stop by to enjoy old-fashioned fun, the warmth of the campfire and sip a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows. More marshmallows were added to the mix as people were provided with all the fixings to make their own s’mores. Kids and adults eagerly sandwiched gooey roasted marshmallows between graham crackers, cookies striped with fudge and chunks of chocolate.
With enough s’mores supplies to make 800 of the tasty treats, a crew from the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce and volunteers set up the campfires and s’mores tables for visitors. Local Boy Scouts also volunteered throughout the evening.
Sysco Food Services sponsored this month’s S’mores & Skiers and the company donated all of the food and paper products.
S’mores & Skiers was the first event in this winter’s Kids ‘N’ Snow program lineup. Visit www.kidsnsnow.org for more information about events and activities offered through the program.
