The West Yellowstone Public Library is closed so the staff can attend the Montana Library Conference in Great Falls. It will reopen on Tuesday, April 15.

Happy Birthday in the next few days to Joanne Girvin, Veronica Gooding, Joe Eagle, Rick Armstrong, Sue Warner, Mike Polkowske and Liz Roos. And to Bub and Pat Maxwell - Happy Anniversary!

April 15 is Tuesday - have you done your taxes?

“Once Upon A Time” is the theme chosen by the West Yellowstone Class of 2009 for this year's prom. The junior class will be staging the 2008 Prom on Saturday, April 19, at the Stage Coach Inn. The public is invited to the Grand March and crowning of the king and queen, which are slated to begin at 8 p.m. Afterward, the students will dance until midnight. Tickets for the dance are $25 for singles and $40 for couples. For information, contact Junior Class Sponsor Lynda Sloan at 646-7617.

Seven former directors of the National Park Service have gone on record to oppose an attempt by Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne, the NRA and 50 senators, including Montana's delegation, to lift gun restrictions in national parks. Guns are allowed in parks now as long as they are unloaded and stored.

The West Yellowstone United Women's Club will meet at noon on Monday

April 14 in the Conference Room of the Days Inn. This will be a regular

business meeting. Bring your lunch. Be sure to mark your calendars for

the meeting on April 28 when Ralph Justen, Executive Director of the

Yellowstone Historic Center, will share information about the Historic Center's projects and activities.

Randi Hulett of Seldom Seen Knives is providing the temperature highs and lows in the FreeHeel & Wheel ad these days, until we can get them from the Park's west gate again.

Vickie Barta has advised us that, even though it's presently under several feet of snow, campsites at the Rainbow Point Campground can be reserved at www.recreation.gov or call 877-444-6777.

The price of gas in West has jumped another 5 cents to $3.49 a gallon.
